What IF?

Moone Boy | Chris O'Dowd | Macmillan
I have recently re-read Moone Boy by Chris O’Dowd and Nick V. Murphy. There is also a TV sitcom so after you love the book you will want to watch that. This book is a comedy and is between a comic book and a novel. The book starts with a boy named Martin Paul Kenny Dalglish Moone and his Imaginary Friend, Seán Caution Murphy. In the sitcom Chris O’Dowd plays the imaginary friend.
The first half of the book is about Martin finding the perfect Imaginary Friend for him. The first one is a clumsy clown called loopy lou who is “annoying, and loud, and stupid, and he smells weird, and he never shuts up, and his jokes are awful, and his magic is terrible, and if he makes another balloon animal I think I’m going to have to kick him!” This is a quote from Martin trying to get rid of loopy lou.
The second half of the book is Martin and his Imaginary Friend bonding and going on different adventures. All the adventures are very exaggerated and comedic. The book itself is not the best in terms of writing but it is a great quick, fun, easy read that is guaranteed to make you laugh.
I think that this book is a great read for fans of comedy and it is a relatively quick read. In addition, the book has big words so it is a really easy read that makes it great for relaxing and reading. I really enjoyed the book and the sitcom and really recommend both.
